Should I get an MA or MFA...any real difference?

An MFA is a terminal degree and allows you to teach. An MA doesn't by itself; you'd need to go on for a PhD. However, MFA programs are focused on creative writing, so if you're interested in a different area of English, that's not the route you'd want to go.
