What do you think of gladiator sandals?

I just bought a pair of metallic gladiator sandals yesterday for an upcoming trip I am going on. I wore them home after I bought them and my husband thinks they are hideous. lol I like them a lot. They are the only pair of shoes I am bringing on my trip because they look great with everything. Would you wear them? Do you like them? Hate them?
